Special Event

We are excited to invite you to a special one-night-only event: a workshop staged reading of Fundraiser, a new play by Mad Horse Company member Brent Askari, on Saturday, January 24th at 7:30 pm.

This is a rare chance to see a brand-new play in development and to be part of its journey.

Fundraiser is a comedy of (bad) manners that follows two couples attending a private school fundraiser together, setting off an evening of unraveling secrets, shifting alliances, and sharp revelations. It is funny, uncomfortable, and deeply human in the way only great new plays can be.

The reading runs approximately 85 to 90 minutes with no intermission and will be performed by a wonderful cast of Mad Horse Company members Joe Bearor, Marie Stewart Harmon, and Nick Schroeder and guest artist Casey Turner in an intimate workshop setting. This presentation is an important step as the play moves toward further development and a workshop production at Gulfshore Playhouse in Florida in early February.
